The Jet Feeder is our original water cannon. This is the one we get strange complaints about. One of our clients in Ireland recently called to say, tongue deeply in cheek, that his feeder had worn out after barely eight years in service and had fed little more than 16000 tonnes of food. He bought another and is looking forward to his retirement, still having a good enough elbow to lift a pint glass.

The feeder has a very simple, highly effective swivel system, which allows a straight feed barrel to be used, causing minimal friction on the water jet, giving it a formidable range of feed delivery from a small water pump. Having a wide arc and elevation, feed can be delivered to almost all of the cage surface. We normally recommend it for feeding cages up to 90m in circumference. The feed delivery rate is approximately 25-35kg/min dependant on the 'flowability' of the pellets.

The machine is fabricated in stainless steel and mounted onto a one-piece aluminium chassis. The engine and pump unit is carried on a separate plate, isolated from the chassis by rubber bushes to reduce vibration. A removable cover protects the engine from the worst of the weather.

We offer it with a choice of either a 5.5hp Honda petrol engine (with LPG conversion now available) or a 6hp Lombardini diesel. Both have recoil start, so there's no need to worry about batteries.

The water pump is made of tough plastic, and, if looked after will last for years. Just don't let it run dry. We fit suction and delivery hoses made of wire reinforced rubber, for durability in both hot and cold climates.

All in all, the Scanbio Jet Feeder will meet your needs, even if you have an automatic feeding system. Many of our clients use them for backing up, particularly in summer time, when getting an early feed into the fish as dawn breaks can make all the difference on growth rate.
